Unique contemporary ICF home in historic College Hill Neighborhood - Corvallis
A small infill project in Corvallis' historic College Hill Neighborhood required a keen eye for detail to ensure it complimented the surrounding architecture while meeting the owners' design and lifestyle goals. The owner wanted something that reflected her love of Japanese architecture and contemporary design.
Designed passive solar, the home used the courtyard to create the feeling of an additional room outdoors. She chose radiant floor heating, natural wool carpeting, energy efficient fixtures, custom cabinetry, lots of built-ins in the bedrooms, kitchen and bathroom to reduce the need for furniture, pocket doors for further space savings, hand made bathroom and kitchen tiles, and Anderson windows and patio doors. Stucco and industrial grade siding were chosen for exterior finishes for a unique combination. Small details like the handmade address plate on the concrete boundary walls and support beams with wood imprint add details that are sublime but beautiful. The courtyard was landscaped as part of the final finish and created a private and cozy outdoor room to compliment the open floor plan. This home is definitely a small package that meets big dreams! |

Custom Residential ICF home on the Coast- Florence, Oregon
Located in Florence, Oregon on the coast, this home has high performance and large west facing windows that maximize it's views of the coast and river while protecting the owners from the harsh coastal elements of wind, salt water and rain. The home is single story for multi-generational living and has a casita / guest house that is separated from the main house for maximum privacy. A protected but open to the sky courtyard adds a private garden feel to the interior of the home. This was on the Florence Tour of Homes in 2005.
Custom Residential ICF Home on Steep Slope - Willamette Valley, Oregon
Set on a steep south facing slope, our clients had an existing house plan they wanted to use. This required extensive cuts into the hillside to allow the home to sit safely on site, accommodate a driveway into their garage and allow for useable space surrounding the house. This project utilized large stone retaining walls, imported hardwood for the floors, a mother in law apartment above the garage and many custom features interior to the house.
